Bagel Boys II, AJ Edelman “Life as an Olympic Athlete”

9:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
Adam (AJ) Edelman is an American-Israeli four-time Israeli National Champion in the skeleton event who competed for Israel at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Edelman is the first Orthodox Jew to compete in the Winter Olympics, and the first Orthodox Jewish male to compete in either Olympic iteration. Originally a hockey player, Edelman switched to skeleton despite his initial scouting reports indicating that he would “never be competitive” in the sport, and would “make it down the track but that’ll be the most of it.”

AJ was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and grew outside the city in Brookline, where he was raised in Modern Orthodox, Zionist Household. He graduated from MIT in 2014 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and is currently an MBA candidate at the Yale School of Management. He is also a dual American-Israeli citizen.
