We appreciate and value your contribution of time, talent, energy, and enthusiasm. As a volunteer, you are joining the cadre of Myerberg volunteers and playing a key role in helping us fulfill our mission. As a volunteer, you are an indispensable part of the center by performing many vital tasks that supplement and enhance the work of the professional staff. You transmit the warmth and concern of the community to our members while increasing the community’s awareness of the center and its many services and programs.
Myerberg Bucks
As a small token of appreciation, each volunteer hour completed equals one Myerberg Buck that can be used towards future membership, subscription, class, or special event fees.
(Myerberg Bucks will not apply to items that in the center such as snacks, art pieces and other items for sale throughout the year. The Myerberg Bucks are issued through a certificate of appreciation and must be used within one year of the signature date.)

Fitness Desk Associate
Position Summary: Volunteers are stationed in the fitness center to welcome members, answer questions and help with the machines while in the center. This position is great for outgoing individuals with some office skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcoming members
- Answering phones and take messages for fitness staff
- Following policy in the event of an emergency
- Providing supervision when the fitness room is in use
- Ensuring that the equipment is being used properly and promote safety practices
- Answering any questions regarding general classes/information about the center
- Ensuring that required paperwork is completed correctly
- Organizing member files and paperwork as needed
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Performing 0ther duties as assigned
Front Desk Greeter
Position Summary: Volunteers are stationed at the front entrance to welcome members, answer questions and direct them to appropriate areas, activities, and classes at the center. This person is the first and last impression of the center. They are truly the connector for everything that happens in the center. This position is great for outgoing individuals with some office skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcoming all members and visitors that enter the center
- Ensuring members are checked in correctly and aid with check-in and COVID screening procedures as needed
- Answering phones and transferring calls
- Answering the doorbell for Weinberg Woods
- Providing new members with Registration paperwork and check before accepting to ensure that it is completed correctly. Contact center staff is unable if assist with something.
- Refilling all fliers and clip boards
- Performing other duties specifically around coordination of special events, or as assigned requirements
- Rotating or working in different areas of Myerberg where needed
Event Committee Member
Position Summary: Volunteers with interests in special events or projects such as parties, fundraisers and community events will work with staff and volunteers to plan, promote and implement special event that benefits the center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working as team member to plan event
- Assisting with promotion of event
- Assisting with decoration or setting up the event
- Assisting with sponsorship for fundraising, if applicable
- Assisting with clean-up after the event
Participating in follow-up meetings after the event is over to address future improvements
Group/Program Leader
Position Summary: To inspire healthy aging through wellness, creativity, and connection. Volunteers are stationed in the fitness center to welcome members, answer questions and help with the machines while in the center. This position is great for outgoing individuals with some office skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcome everyone
- Set up activities
- Make sure you have all required supplies and or equipment.
- Plan weekly activities if applicable
- Plan tournaments or special events if applicable
