Frequently Asked Questions: Onsite Programs
Will a vaccine be required for entry?
A COVID-19 vaccine will not be required to enter our building. However, we strongly encourage all members to get the COVID-19 vaccine at their earliest opportunity to do so. Please consult with your healthcare provider for more information.
How will you be cleaning the building?
In addition to our regular cleaning schedule, heavily trafficked and high touch areas, such as bathrooms, will be cleaned at least three times every day with an EPA-approved disinfectant, such as isopropyl alcohol or bleach. Touch-free hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the building. We will also be using an electrostatic sprayer to clean heavily trafficked areas twice a day.
Are there any areas of the building where a mask is not required?
No. A mask is always required. You are permitted, however, to lower or raise your mask briefly to hydrate, remaining 6 feet from all others in the building.
How will you be enforcing mask wearing and other policies?
Myerberg staff and building security will be enforcing all policies. If you are found to be wearing a mask improperly (below the nose and/or mouth), or not all, you will be asked to wear your mask properly. Repeat offenders will be asked to leave immediately and may be subject to suspension from onsite activities. If you frequently forget to bring a mask, we recommend keeping several spares in your vehicle.
What measures are you taking to maintain your HVAC and ventilation systems?
We provide regular preventive maintenance to our units including routine filter changes. As recommended by the Baltimore City Health Department, we have upgraded our air filters to a Minimum Efficiency Rating Value (MERV) rating of 11. MERV ratings define the effectiveness of the filter against airborne particles which are measured in Microns. Each Micron is one millionth of a meter in size. MERV 11 filters are the highest filter recommended for our heating and cooling systems which also enable unobstructed air flow. MERV filters rated 11 catch particles that are 1.0 – 3.0 microns and are often used in hospitals and laboratories.
What is your visitor policy?
We love visitors! Beginning June 1, 2021, please call 410-358-6856 or email email@example.com to schedule an appointment. We are not allowing unscheduled visits at this time. Visitors will also need to complete our COVID-19 Liability and Assumptions of Risk Waiver, Code of Conduct, and follow all standard check-in procedures.
I have a care partner or aide who assists me with my mobility and transportation needs. Will my care partner be allowed to enter the building?
If you are being dropped off or escorted by a care partner/aide, please contact us at 410-358-6856 prior to your visit so we can discuss your specific situation.
How can I make exercise in a mask more comfortable?
Masks made of cloth or a moisture-wicking material like polyester typically work best. A number of companies have developed masks with materials and designs that allow for a more comfortable mask-wearing workout.
Some people find that using a plastic/silicone inner bracket or cage inside of the mask can make it more comfortable to exercise in a mask, though it’s important that you are still able to maintain the fit of the mask without creating gaps.
We recommend that you consider modifying the intensity of your workout if you are not used to exercising with a mask. As you gain experience and comfort, you can gradually increase the intensity over time. You should stop and take a break if you experience any of the following: dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, headache, muscular weakness, shortness of breath, or an overall feeling of discomfort. Be sure to bring enough water to stay hydrated as well.
