Memoir Writing with Barbara Bass

9:00 – 10:15 a.m.
This workshop will help participants retrieve their memories as they write about their lives, recording them for posterity, while at the same time preserving family history. During each session, participants will be encouraged to write, while guided by a skilled writer/teacher. Participants will be provided with writing prompts that will help to spark memories. Over the course of the session, participants will form a community of writers, sharing their stories with the other writers in the class. Instructor Barbara Bass, Ph.D., Professor of English Emerita, Towson University. This class has limited enrollment due to the structure of the course.

How Poetry Speaks to Us in a Time of Crisis with Gail Lipsitz

During these months of turmoil, isolation and changes caused by the coronavirus, we have struggled to adapt and maintain our equilibrium. We need outlets for our emotions and we seek sources of perspective and hope. Poetry can help fill these human needs. Join us as we read and discuss poems about time, solitude, nature, and friendship. Poems will be posted on the Myerberg Center website the week before each class.

Sculpting Arms with Lynn
