Expressions of Resilience
Expressions of Resilience:
Israel’s Creative Ways of Coping after October 7
A four-session series will connect people to Israel and the events of October 7. It will focus on the aftermath as experienced by the people of Israel, who used different means of art to cope with the horrible events.
All sessions are on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m.

Join us for one or all of this series. These will be held onsite at the Myerberg (3101 Fallstaff Road; 21209). This event is open to the community. There will be light kosher refreshments. Please call 410-358-6856 to register. Thank you!
Art (Thursday, December 5 at 10:00 a.m.)
Using the art of Zeev (shoshke) Engelmayer, we will experience the way the people of Israel think and feel about the war in general and the hostages in particular. Engelmayer creates colorful art as part of his “one postcard a day” project, some are his own inspiration for current events, and some were special requests from people in Israel.
Poetry (Thursday, January 9 at 10:00 a.m.)
Using the method of a Gemara (collection of Rabbinic commentary) page, we will interpret poetry written by Israeli poets since October 7. The poetry touches many subjects, from unity to devastation, to hurt and disaster.
Music (Thursday, March 27 at 10:00 a.m.)
Listen, learn and explore the music that was written by Israeli songwriters and composers post October 7. From revenge songs to Unity songs, explore every emotion captured through lyrics and sound.
Israeli Independence (Thursday, May 1 at 10:00 a.m.)
Recognize and honor Israel’s Independence Day through the art of Israelis.
