Howard Cohen fell in love with Contemporary Art made from glass in 1996, during Dale Chihuly's fascinating show at the Baltimore Museum of Art.  He's been collecting it ever since in places both near and far!  He's bought pieces, interviewed and visited artists in numerous cities in the US, in Prague and Venice.  Since 2015, Mr. Cohen has taught courses on glass art for senior programs at Beth El Synagogue, CCBC, Goucher College, Johns Hopkins University, the Myerberg Senior Center and Towson University.  He leads trips to artists’ studios, and galleries and museums that feature glass art. Recently, he curated exhibitions in Baltimore and Laurel.

Mr Cohen is on the Board of the Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass and is its Education Co-Chairman.  Prior to his retirement, he worked 33 years as an actuary for GEICO Insurance Company.  He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and holds BA & MA degrees in Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University.
