The Mediterranean Island of Malta: Its Art and Treasures with Dr. Joseph Cassar

This course explores the history of Malta from prehistory to the present. We examine the 5,000 BCE megalithic temples, the island’s strategic role under the Knights ofn St John, the French, and the British, and highlights major artworks, including masterpieces by Caravaggio. Key sites such as Mdina, the Three Cities, the Grand Harbour, and Valletta are discussed, along with museums, buildings, and Maltese artists. Lectures feature rich color images and encourage questions and discussion.
